Embracing Our Differences invites artists, photographers, professionals, amateurs, teachers and students to participate in its 9th annual visual art exhibit celebrating diversity. National and international submissions are encouraged. 39 artists will be selected for the exhibit. The Embracing Our Differences exhibit will be displayed throughout the months of April and May 2012 at Island Park along Sarasota’s beautiful bayfront. Since 2004, the exhibit has been viewed by more than 1,000,000 visitors. The exhibit will contain 39 billboard-sized (16 feet wide by 12 1/2 feet high) images of the selected artworks. In the judges’ discretion, an additional six “honorable mention” selections may be made.
Final selections will be chosen based on artistic excellence in reflection of the theme “Embracing Our Differences”. The art-work will also be evaluated on how effectively it will read outdoors when enlarged to billboard size – 16 feet wide by 12 1/2 feet high. Artists are encouraged to use bold saturated colors and strong lines. Final selections will be made by a 3-judge panel of professional artists, curators and art professionals. A total of $3,000.00 in awards will be presented.
Submissions must be postmarked no later than January 9, 2012. There is no submission fee nor limit on the number of entries.

Generation of Art Nouveau Book Contest
Generation of Art Nouveau is now accepting entries now for the following books: The Best Collections of 2011, Social Propaganda and Portraits of the Soul. Generation of Art Nouveau recently founded in 2011 wants to offer an alternative means of providing art publications for artist and art lovers. These books allows for well known and not well known artist a chance to be publish and promoted to not only a national audience but international audiences as well. Selected artists work will be displayed in the book in a few different ways depending on the artist's award. There will be multi-page, full-page and half-page exposure (depending on the award space allotment), complete with an artist's statement (supplied by the artist), for each award winning artist. The Best Collections of 2011 is an art book that is about locating all collections in the world that would be displayed in the galleries but haven’t been or have. For this book we want full blown collections that have a common subject or factor for artwork submitted. We are looking for artwork of the traditional and nontraditional nature and also this is a perfect selection for a photographer with a collection.Social Propaganda is a book about social matters of today’s world.
